Uzbekistan sews like never before. Clothing production hits a new record
Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. A new record for clothing production has been recorded in Uzbekistan. According to the Statistics Committee, in January–August 2025, large enterprises of the country produced light industry products worth 24.4 trillion soums.
Compared to the same period last year, production volume increased by 16.9%.
Andijan region remains the leader in terms of output - 9.6 trillion soums. The Namangan region is in second place (2.7 trillion soums), followed by the Tashkent region (2.6 trillion soums).
The following are:
- Tashkent - 1.8 trillion soums;
- Fergana region - 1.6 trillion;
- Navoi - 1.4 trillion;
- Kashkadarya - 1.1 trillion;
- Bukhara - 1 trillion;
- Samarkand - 863.7 billion;
- Surkhandarya - 437 billion;
- Jizzakh - 419.1 billion;
- Republic of Karakalpakstan - 333.4 billion;
- Sirdarya - 291.5 billion;
- Khorezm - 288.9 billion soums.
Experts associate the growth in production volumes with the active modernization of enterprises, an increase in export potential and government support measures for the light industry.
