An International Academy of Fashion will be established in Tashkent

The decree of the President “On the Establishment of the Tashkent International Academy of Fashion” has been adopted.

According to the decree, the Tashkent International Academy of Fashion will be a state higher educational institution and will become part of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry.

The academy will be established on the basis of the joint educational program of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry and the Paris International Academy of Fashion.

At the same time, all students studying under the joint educational program will continue their studies at the academy.

The educational process will begin in the 2026/2027 academic year. Student admissions will be carried out in the generally established manner in accordance with current legislation.

Along with joint educational programs, the academy will be allowed to train specialists in bachelor’s degree fields and master’s degree specialties based on its own educational programs.

Starting from the 2027/2028 academic year, a dual form of education will be introduced, aimed at targeted training of personnel for the textile, garment, knitwear, and leather-footwear industries at the request of enterprises and organizations.

On the basis of the academy, the development of clothing design for various organizations and services on a state order, as well as the creation of national brands, will be organized.

Starting from the 2027/2028 academic year, graduates of technical colleges training personnel for the light industry, who have successfully completed their studies and have an average grade no lower than the indicator established by the academy, will be allowed to continue their studies from the third year of bachelor’s degree on a fee-based contract basis.

Foreign specialists and administrative staff engaged to work at the academy, their family members, as well as foreign students enrolling in the academy, will be provided, in the established manner, with the issuance and extension of multiple-entry visas, as well as registration at the place of stay and extension of its validity on the basis of applications from the academy.

The action plan approved by the decree also provides for the construction and commissioning of a 400-bed student dormitory on the basis of a public-private partnership by the end of 2028.

Until then, students transferred from the institute to the academy will be allowed, in the established manner, to use the institute’s student dormitory.
