One of the largest textile and cotton clusters in the Bukhara region, the Merganteks cluster, operating in the Karakul region, grows cotton on 105 hectares of desert land that was previously abandoned. Each hectare yields over 60 centners of harvest.

One of the largest textile and cotton clusters in the Bukhara region, the Merganteks cluster, operating in the Karakul region, grows cotton on 105 hectares of desert land that was previously abandoned. Each hectare yields over 60 centners of harvest.

This result was achieved thanks to the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, including drip irrigation systems, double-row sowing and mechanized cotton harvesting.

Raw cotton grown in the cluster is completely processed on site - it is used to produce fiber, yarn and finished garments. The experience of the Merganteks cluster is important in the effective use of desert areas, increasing productivity and expanding the production of finished products.
