CCI of Uzbekistan and Better Cotton Discuss Support for Cotton Clusters
During the talks, information was provided on the current activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and plans for the future. The parties also discussed the prospects for joint projects.
Better Cotton is an international non-profit organization promoting sustainable cotton growing methods. It develops environmentally friendly standards, trains farmers in effective methods and helps improve working conditions in the cotton industry.
Eva Clayton noted that Better Cotton has been operating in Uzbekistan since 2022, and has so far provided practical assistance in Better Cotton certification for nine cotton clusters in the country.
In turn, Dilshod Rasulov spoke about the benefits and preferences provided by the government of Uzbekistan to cotton growers and cotton clusters.
Following the talks, the parties agreed on further cooperation in assisting Uzbek cotton producers and clusters in entering foreign markets by obtaining the international Better Cotton certificate.
