In Uzbekistan, instructions have been given to increase exports and restore the activities of textile enterprises

At the meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, issues of increasing export potential and restoring the activities of textile enterprises were discussed.

It was noted that at the end of 2025 in the Tashkent, Samarkand, Andijan, Jizzakh and Bukhara regions, the volume of imports exceeded exports by a total ofUS$5.6 billion. Besides,29 out of 47 special economic zonescountries have not exported at all since the beginning of the year.

It was also emphasized at the meeting that due to protracted litigation related to the repayment of loans,16 textile enterprisespractically do not work, as a result of which the country loses the opportunity to produce products on5 trillion soumsand export goods toUS$400 million. The experience of restoring the activities of an enterprise was cited as a positive example."Toshkent Cotton". Responsible persons have been instructed to take measures to restore the work of other enterprises and increase export volumes.
