Uztextileprom and Confederation of Indian Textile Industry agreed on cooperation
A delegation of the Uztextileprom Association took part in the international textile conference “Global Textile Conclave - 2018” in New Delhi.
The purpose of the visit was expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with Indian textile companies.
The event was attended by more than 1,000 representatives of the textile and garment and knitwear industry, as well as members of the Government of the Republic of India - Vice President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, Minister of Textile of India Ms. Smriti Zubin (Smriti Zubin Irani).
The conference was devoted to improving the profitability of textile and garment and knitwear products, as well as innovations for sustainable industry growth.
During the conference, an official ceremony of signing the Cooperation Agreement between Uztextileprom Association and the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) took place.
The agreement is aimed at the development of scientific and innovative development through mutual cooperation, attracting potential Indian investments to the implementation of joint projects, as well as organizing on an annual basis specialized exhibitions and fashion shows in both Uzbekistan and India in order to expand investment and cooperative ties between textile industry enterprises.
Within the framework of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyeev to India, the delegation of the Association "Uztextile" led by the Chairman of the Association Ilhom Haydarov held a number of meetings in India, following their agreement.
Indian textile companies offered to cooperate in the sale of Uzbek textiles to third-country markets, including placing orders for export to European countries.
For the first time, an exhibition of the textile industry of Uzbekistan “Made in Uzbekistan” was organized. As a result of the meetings held, relevant agreements were concluded, including 8 investment agreements totaling US$30.5 million.
